Base sa draw procedure.Eto sana makabracket natin
    QT MANILA
    Philippines
    Greece
Mexico(New Zealand sana kaso sabi ng FIBA dapat kasama daw siya ng Canada)
    Czech Republic
    Senegal
    Latvia

In this case mabigat kalaban dito yung Greece at Mexico dahil ahead sila sa atin sa FIBA World Ranking. Greece is at number 10 while Mexico is at number 19 and Philippines at number 28 in the world ranking pero kaya nating talunin ang mga yan kung makukuha natin si Clarkson

    Group A
    Turkey
    Senegal
    Canada
    Group B
    France
    New Zealand
    Philippines
Pero tiwala lang tayo bilog ang bola at kakayanin natin yan.Basta maayos na preparasyon, training at sana makalaro si Clarkson sa atin para may pantapat tayo kina Batum at Parker ng France at Andrew Wiggins ng Canada.

    New Zealand at France ?!..

    Palag palag parin yan ..

Basta makuha natin ang mga bigmen sa wishlist ni Tab at all healthy line up hindi tayo masyadong dehado dyan ..

Hope Junemar and Almazan gets healthy (I chose Almazan over Ian here) at mas magimprove si Greggy under CTC then Clarkson will be able to play mababawasan yung height disadvantage natin ..

Do you think pwede na pasamahin sa senior men's team si Kobe Paras for experience na rin ?!..

Key players from the French national basketball team could miss the Manila leg of the Fiba Olympic Qualifiers with their contracts expiring in the NBA.

French Basketball Federation director general Yann Barbitch said NBA veterans Boris Diaw of San Antonio and Nicolas Batum of Charlotte may not suit up for France in its quest for an Olympic berth in the July 5-10 tournament because they will be renegotiating their professional contracts.

MANILA, Philippines - Two-time UAAP MVP Bobby Ray Parks has been named to the Gilas 24-man lineup that will be submitted to FIBA as a requirement for the Olympic qualifying tournament at the MOA Arena on July 5-10.

The next deadline is on June 20 when teams are required to submit a “short list” of 12 to 16 players. The third deadline is on June 27 when the final 12-man cast will be sent. Only the players from the 24-man roster may be included in the lineups for June 20 and 27.

Greg Slaughter, Matt Ganuelas Rosser out of Gilas pool due to injuries

Gilas Pilipinas will have two less players to choose from as Greg Slaughter and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser have been ruled out of the pool due to ankle injuries.

National coach Tab Baldwin confirmed the unfortunate development on Wednesday when Gilas resumed practice, saying Slaughter underwent a scan, found out an issue on his ankle ligament and is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery.

Rosser, on the other hand, has already had surgery for his own ankle injury he suffered in the offseason.

"Every player under my responsibility and has an injury is a concern," Baldwin said. “I'm concerned for them as people, for their careers, for their opportunities. I'm concerned that they can't realize their ambitions to be part of Gilas this year.”

“But they move on and I move on,” the American-Kiwi mentor added.

Japeth Aguilar, Slaughter's Ginebra teammate, said Slaughter could be out for two months. The 6-11 slotman dropped by the Meralco Gym to talk to Baldwin on Wednesday but left before Gilas practice could end.

Marcio Lassiter was also absent in practice owing to an own minor injury, but Baldwin expects San Miguel Beer sniper to return on Thursday.

Sorry news for the Filipinos, Matt Rosser is a big point guard who can match up well with international players, the only good news is Bobby Ray Parks can take his place.

The big breakdown is Greg Slaughter, Gilas needs his Inside Presence, its just bad news he is injured.

Bad news for Gilas as Slaughter will not suit in this OQT in July. But I think Aguilar now has the bigger chance of getting of the the slots as the Gilas needed more bigmen in their line up.

Paul Lee to brief coach Tab Baldwin on extent of knee injury, likely out of Gilas pool

Paul Lee is likely to follow Greg Slaughter and Matt Ganuelas-Rosser and watch Gilas Pilipinas from the sidelines.

In what could be another blow to the national team’s ambitious bid to make the Rio de Janeiro Olympics, the deadly combo guard faces the possibility of skipping playing for coach Tab Baldwin in the qualifier for the Summer Games which the country is hosting from July 5-10 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The 27-year-old Lee is set to report for training with Gilas for the first time on Tuesday, where he plans to sit down and personally talk to Baldwin regarding the true condition of his hurting left knee.

“Sasabihin ko kay Coach Tab yung sitwasyon ko,” said the Rain or Shine guard, admitting his situation has gone even worse since last playing in Game Six of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup finals won by the Elasto Painters over the Alaska Aces.

He admitted visiting the doctors again last week to consult on the knee, which was constantly being drained during the playoffs. And the diagnosis, according to him, is not something pleasant for Baldwin to hear.

“May partial tear pa rin yung ligament. Saka mas maraming tubig ngayon kesa nung huling nagpa-drain ako,” he said of the injury (lateral meniscus and Illotbial Band) which had kept him out for most of the early part of the season.

June Mar Fajardo, Japeth Aguilar expected to join Gilas Pilipinas training next week

Reigning three-time PBA MVP June Mar Fajardo of San Miguel and Ginebra big man Japeth Aguilar are set to begin participating in the Philippine national men’s basketball team next week.

Gilas coach Chot Reyes confirmed this in an exclusive interview with InterAksyon.com on Monday’s training session at the Meralco Gym.

The 6-foot-10 Fajardo visited the team’s practice but opted to sit out and merely observe the workout, with most of the participants coming from the young turks of the Gilas cadet team. Both he and Aguilar also missed the three-day Gilas training camp in Tagaytay last week.

“Both June Mar and Japeth naman, nagpaalam sila because after that finals, ayaw muna nila humawak ng bola,” Reyes said.

“Wala namang issue sa atin yun. They promised me that they will be in the next practice and I’m holding them to that promise.”

TNT import Donte Greene says he's open to become a naturalized player for Gilas

Donte Greene expressed the possibility of undergoing Philippine naturalization to reinforce Gilas Pilipinas in the future.

The NBA veteran and new TNT KaTropa import was a surprise participant in the national team’s practice on Monday night at the Meralco, saying he welcomed the invite of national coach Chot Reyes to get some extra work before his PBA Commissioner’s Cup debut for the Texters on Friday against Blackwater.

“Coach asked me if I wanted to work out with the team, just trying to shake off my legs after a long flight,” Greene said. “It's good to come out and have them see me.

“Then maybe, possibly, down the road play with the team,” the 29-year-old cager was quick to add. “Yeah (I’m open to naturalization). Philippine basketball is growing. It's definitely world-known so be a part of that will be a blessing.”

Reyes expects flu-stricken Maliksi to recover in time for SEABA joust

Sharpshooting wingman Allein Maliksi skipped Gilas’ Monday morning practice after being downed by flu, just four days to go before the start of the 2017 SEABA men’s championships at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Gilas coach Chot Reyes said the 6-foot-4 Maliksi was already under the weather during the team’s dinner Sunday night. He was the only member of the Gilas “SEABA 12” who was absent with naturalized player Andray Blatche already joining the national squad since he arrived very early on Sunday.

He was eventually evaluated by team doctors and was advised to skip the first of the twice-a-day practice on Monday to avoid infecting other Gilas members with the flu virus.

“We missed Allein because he is down with a fever,” said Reyes after the morning sessiom at the Meralco Gym in Pasig.

“We told him not to come here, baka makahawa pa siya sa ibang mga kasama niya,” continued the fiery mentor, whose national squad takes on Myanmar to kick off their SEABA Championship campaign this Friday.

Reyes though expects Maliksi to be better and hopefully, join Gilas when it resumes practice on Wednesday. The national side, which will enjoy the full backing of the Filipino fans at the Big Dome, will take a day off on Tuesday.
